DRAMS Wood Management

Available as a standalone solution or fully integrated within the core DRAMS system, the DRAMS Wood Management module enables users to track and manage their cask inventory independently of the spirit they contain — delivering greater control over one of the distillery’s most valuable assets.

DRAMS Wood Management provides a number of key benefits, including:

  • End-to-End Cask Traceability
Track the complete lifecycle of each barrel, from ordering and receipt through to repairs, re-use cycles, and end-of-life. This level of detail supports both operational management and the marketing of product provenance.
  • Enhanced Product Quality Control
Maintain records of spirit quality at each outturn alongside cask history, including repairs, re-char dates, and fill counts. These insights inform better wood selection decisions and contribute to consistent product quality.
  • Improved Supplier and Cooperage Oversight
Assess supplier performance at the point of cask receipt and monitor cooperage activity in real time. Repair counts, quality checks, and time-to-complete can be used to evaluate and manage third-party performance.
  • Cost Control and Inventory Optimisation
Accurate tracking of cask condition and availability improves wood utilisation and reduces unnecessary purchases. Better insight into when to retire, repair, or redeploy barrels helps control costs.
