Are you struggling to come up with exciting and engaging social posts? Every day, there seems to be a new development or a new social media platform and it can be difficult to stay on top of them all.
The key is to plan ahead and ensure you always have great quality content lined up. To make things a bit easier for you, we’ve come up with 20 great social post ideas that can be used for any business or brand around the world.
As if that wasn’t enough, we’re going to give you a free social calendar that you can use to schedule and plan your future posts. Happy planning!
Blog posts
If your website has a blog attached, why not use your social media platforms to promote them and drive traffic to your website? This is the easiest (and cheapest) way to showcase your blog content. You can share it across your Facebook, Twitter and Linked In profiles at different times of the day.
Staff photos
People like to see photos of people, so you should post photographs of the faces behind the business. You can show your followers what your office looks like or simply show off your company’s culture. It could be a behind-the-scenes or a get-to-know-me post with a member of your team.
Industry insights
For those days when your content is running low and you are feeling uninspired, you can share some industry news from other reputable sites. Your followers are interested in the industry field you are in, so they’ll be grateful for the news update. Just make sure that it is actually relevant to your industry.
You’ll also want to keep on top of breaking news and big developments. Be the first to share the news and you will be remembered. Create a list of news sources within your industry and follow them religiously.
Questions/polls
As a content creator, you want to create exciting content that engages your audience. There is nothing better than directly asking them a question and hearing their response. Create regular questions and polls across your social channels like Twitter and Instagram Stories. If you’re wondering what kind of content they want to see, just ask them!
Product demos
If you have a product to show off, make sure you are doing it with a video demo. Video content is prioritised over any other type of content on social media, and you should be capitalising on this. Visuals and video demos are eye-catching when your audience are scrolling through their newsfeed.
Customer reviews/case studies
In case you don’t want to blow your own trumpet, get your customers to. If you have dedicated fans, sorry clients, then get them to tell others how amazing you are. Ask for case studies, testimonials and reviews. Don’t forget to add their name and social media channels for credibility and use free tools such as Canva to create a nice graphic.
Memes
Who doesn’t love a meme? There are millions out there, with jokes and one-liners relating to every industry on the planet. Use them, share them or make your own. Just make sure they relate to your brand or industry.
Life’s too short to be serious all the time, and they are a great way to show off your brand’s personality.
Competitions
A sure-fire way to gain followers and increase brand awareness in a short space of time. If you’re a new business with new social media channels, or you simply want to gain more followers, start a ‘like, share and follow’ competition and watch your engagement rise.
Topical/holiday posts
Be on top of the upcoming holidays and any topical news that is current. Get involved and use appropriate hashtags to make sure your posts are appearing at the top of the newsfeed and reaching new audiences.
FAQs
Is there a certain question you get asked a lot? Or perhaps your business is quite complex? You could share FAQs regularly. This way, you can answer people’s questions before they have to ask and get your message across clearly and in the way, you want to.
Infographics – homemade/shared
Whether you make them yourself based on your own data, create one an infographic based on a recently released report or share someone else’s, an infographic is a great way to share information. You can use them to show off statistics, a step-by-step guide or make a massive amount of info look much more appealing.
Podcasts
This is something the content team here at Zymplify are currently working on, so you can expect to see our own Podcast very shortly.
They are really easy to record and post online, so why not grab a mic and start chatting? More and more people around the world are tuning into podcasts while they are doing their daily tasks like walking the dog or cleaning the house.
Live videos
Another informal way to engage with your audience. You can record and share live videos on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. It’s real, personal and shows warts-and-all. Try it out and see who engages with you.
Find the right platform that works for you and try and make it a regular thing – this will encourage your audience to come back the following week at the same time.
Inspirational quotes – relevant to your industry
We all need some inspiration from time to time. Inspire your followers with an industry quote, or something that will encourage them to get up and go on Monday morning. Whatever it is, make sure it’s relevant to your company and industry.
If they’re a bit too cheesy for you, make up your own. Ask your CEO or Management team for their top tips, take a nice photograph of them to and share.
Company news/updates
If you have an event coming up, use your social media platforms to promote it. Or if you have company accomplishments to boast about? Whether it is a recent award you won, reaching a certain number of followers or customers – let your audience know.
Product reviews
Get other people to review your product and tell people exactly what they think about it. What social media influencers would appeal to your audience? Brainstorm a few ideas and ask them to collaborate.
Q&A sessions
If you want to start recording video content but are unsure what to record, tell your followers to send in their questions and you’ll answer them live on camera.
Promote the video a few days before and get your audience to send in your questions beforehand. Prepare your answers ahead of time and make sure you have rehearsed, especially if you’re going to do it live.
User-generated content
Have your followers tagged you in their purchases? Or have they tagged you in a review? Re-post their content and tag them back. They’ll really appreciate it and it makes you look like you engage regularly with your audience.
Create a blog series – on a certain topic
TO generate regular and consistent engagement, you need to create regular and consistent content. If you want your audience to interact with your social posts, you could start a blog/social post series. This way, people will know to come back regularly and as a result, your posts will end up targeting a bigger reach.
Pick a certain topic, tell your followers what days/times you will be posting at and don’t show up late.
Statistics
People love statistics because they are easy to read, and they are easy to remember. If you don’t have the use of a Graphic Designer at your fingertips, use Canva to create eye-catching graphics and use statistics to make them stand out.
