What is your position at Zymplify? 
Software Developer
How long have you worked here?
8 months
What does a typical day at Zymplify involve? 

Programming, managing cloud infrastructure, googling things, planning, emails, calls, meetings. Not in any particular order.

How/Why did you get into Software Development – whatever is applicable to you? 
My late ICT teacher Mr Rice inspired me to get into programming. I initially tinkered with Codecademy’s free JavaScript course around 2012. My placement with Transpoco in Dublin in 2015-2016 made me realise I want to pursue this as a career.
What did you study at university?
BSc Computing with Placement
What do you enjoy the most about your job? 
Problem-solving. 🙂
What’s the most challenging part?
Problem-solving. 🙁
What kind of skills do you think you need to succeed in Software Development?
I believe soft skills such as perseverance, curiosity, persistence & creativity in software development eventually lead to the hard skills required to succeed.

Software Developer

How long have you worked here? 
A year and a half.

What does a typical day at Zymplify involve? 
There is always support issues to look at first thing in the morning, along with fixing bugs. Then I move onto enhancements and new development for the rest of the day.

How/Why did you get into Computing?
I did well in ICT when I was in high school so I decided to go further with it and study it at University.

What did you study at university? 
Computing science.

What do you enjoy the most about your job? 
I love working with SQL.

What’s the most challenging part? 
Learning new languages.

What kind of skills do you think you need to succeed in Digital Marketing? 
Marketing Skills of the digital variety.

I have always had an interest in working with computers.

Improving older pages to perform better.
What’s the most challenging part?
Fixing issues that are hard to replicate.
What kind of skills do you think you need to succeed in Digital Marketing?
